Kitchen Cupboards: They Matter More Than You Think.

Here’s why:

Have you ever seen a kitchen with gorgeous counters, amazing appliances, great lighting, but cabinets that look like they’re straight out of a dumpster? We see this all the time, and it makes us sad.

So very sad.

If your kitchen is the heart of your home, then your kitchen’s cabinets are its muscles. This is the room where you gather to share a meal with those nearest and dearest, where you rest to contemplate life over a snack and a warm drink, and where you usually find the most interesting people at a house party.

Point is, there’s so much that happens in the kitchen outside of just food preparation and consumption. If you have a family, the kitchen is probably where a lot of big conversations and major decisions happen. If it’s just you then your kitchen is a place where you can shed the stresses of the day and refocus.

Either way, your kitchen is no place for dilapidated cabinets and decrepit cupboards.

Kitchens get a lot of traffic.
Even if you just use a kitchen for food prep and eating, it’s worth pointing out that the average North American spends 67 minutes per day eating, and another 34 minutes per day on food preparation.

For the 99% of us who can’t afford to eat out every day, the majority of our food prep and consumption takes place in a kitchen (either our own, the office kitchen, and/or a friend or family member’s).

If we do the math, that equals 1 hour 41 minutes per day spent in the kitchen. That’s nearly 12 hours per week, which makes for nearly 1 month out of every year spent in the kitchen –– just with making and eating your food. Some of us don’t even spend that much time in the bathroom! (Incidentally, we also create custom bathroom cabinets.)
